Glitter & Pearls

Friday Link Love

It’s Friday!  And this weekend is all about organizing.  I may be a little late on my resolutions (get fit, i.e. with actual muscles – not just the ability to jazzercise in an uncoordinated fashion; organize my closet/kitchen/life; perfect my hosting skills, learn to park – you see, I can get there, but the parking part, not so much; buy fewer shoes, hahaha), but I’m not giving up yet.

Dangit, I just bought a planner, but these glittering numbers make me want a new one … already.  How can one organize without the style?  Utilitarian planners are so last year, anyway. {Barbara Wiggins 2012 Day Planner Diaries}

Can we talk about this dress?  The saddest moment of my week was finding out this dress was sold out at ASOS.  There are a few similar styles (Similar here, here, and here), but the original, it’s phenomenal.  {Image via Chriselle Inc.}

This just puts a smile on my face. {Kate Spade New York Eat Cake for Breakfast}

Over on Glitter Weddings, I gushed about these monogrammed pie pockets that double as great place cards/favors; but they’re also just an easy take on a miniature pie.  With pre-made pie dough and a pie filling (you can totally cheat and buy the stuff in a can – it’s bizarrely delicious), this is an incredibly easy dessert that will impress everyone!  Cue reslution #337 – hostess with the most-est.

Friday Link Love

Happy Friday!  This Friday could not have come any sooner.  I’m in a funk and need to be un-funked stat.  My new year’s resolutions barely left the starting line, not that they were very concrete to begin with.  I think I need to just shake the stink off. Anyone have any brilliant fat-free, sugar-free full of taste brownies to send my way and/or free couture?

Admittedly, this picture helps.  Love every piece.  Okay, okay, a rose gold Cartier Love Bracelet would do the trick.  (A few affordable rose gold options: Ettika // Elizabeth and James // Dogeared // Joolwe // Gorjana ) {image found here}

Jane of Sea of Shoes rocks the best footwear.  {Dolce & Gabbana Star-Cutout Metallic Leather Ankle Booties; and Similar: Dolce & Gabbana Star-Cutout Leather Pump}

The Invincible Summer by Matthew Kavan Brooks, available on Society6 ($17.99 – $39.99) {found here}

And this image has me swooning, and missing the dance classes that I was just awful at most of my childhood {note: that’s not to say that I got any better at some point in my childhood; I was basically terrible always.}

And lastly, I’m a big fan of free … and though it’s no cure to calories (see request for ff brownies, above), free nail polish certainly puts a smile on my face.  Now through January 9, Zoya is giving away two free nail polishes to every customer. You don’t have to spend any money, or enter a contest, or do anything other than type in a code. Find two polishes you love (my picks: Melodie and Raven), add them to your cart, type in code ZOYA2012 at checkout, and you get both polishes for free — you just pay the cost for shipping.

Holiday Wishing and a Great Big FarFetch Wishlist

Holidays are an excuse to eat too much, work out less, and make list after list of holiday wishes.  Though the new year is still a few weeks away, I am also crafting a new me (or rather, a slightly revamped me.)  After the three-week eating fest (stressing “after“), I will walk more – there’s much needed entertainment on my walks and I could use a little sunshine (Edward Cullen’s got nothing on me … though sadly I am without the built-in sparkle … and yes, I just referenced those Twilight movies.)  Also, I will wear more lipstick.  I will bite my tongue, but speak when I know that I should.  I will attempt to rock a more modern, edgy – a little less Blair, a little more Serena (gasp) – look.  I will learn new things.  I will go out on a limb and take risks.  I will save, like a responsible adult … for a shiny new toy (preferably an Ipad in mustard yellow Gucci armor or really anything by Marc Jacobs.)  And I will continue to make wishlists, dream lists, attainable goal lists, and ingredient lists – because all of my post-it notes, word documents, Pinterest boards, and Photoshop spreads help me to dream bigger and accomplish more, and that’s pretty cool! (Nerd alert.)

Oh right – the Far Fetch list – because I am kind, and can offer my gift list all in one tidy storefront.  You’re welcome, Santa (err, Chanukah Harry.)
