The trend just doesn’t seem to end – and why should it? Headbands are classic, feminine, and a perfect I-don’t-feel-like-washing-my-hair-cover-up.

Slick back your locks and turn heads with hair accessories from CandyBand.

My latest obsession…

Nivea A Kiss of Moisture, sold at Drugstores for $2.99.

I am a gloss girl. I stand by the belief that with sunglasses and shiny shiny lipgloss you can look fabulous come hell or high water. I have braved post-spring flings, bronchitis, and wicked sunburns with the magic combo (repeat after me: sunglasses and gloss.) I often turned my nose at lip balms and chapsticks, but today I concede. Nivea A Kiss of Moisture is the new love of my life.

Nivea A Kiss of Moisture – Hydrating Lip Care SPF 4:

• Is a light-weight formula that absorbs quickly into the lips
• Enriched with Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter to provide long-lasting moisturization
• Helps protect your lips from the damaging effects of the sun

And just in case you thought I left shiny shiny gloss behind, think again. Mix one coat Nivea, one coat of your favorite uber-shine gloss, and voilla – both healing and foolproof!!! Layer girls.

Here are a few of my favorite girly glosses…

Mac Dazzlegloss in Funtabulous

Clinique Glosswear in Air Kiss

Mac Plushglass in Big Baby

Chanel Glossimer in Pin-Up

Lancome Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling

With discounts on cosmetic brands like YSL, Bliss, Vincent Longo, Molton Brown, Smashbox, Prescriptives and more, is the one discount you’ll find on makeup these days. The site boasts discounts of up to 85% off on designer brands and sells everything from makeup, skincare, hair, and nailcare. Nothing on the website is over $50.

Query this: why is it that none of those department store coupons ever work at the makeup counters?

But I digress; shop the steals.

Oh yeah, and there is a 75% Private Sale going on now! Fabulosity!

Hung Chains

Latest obsession = HungChains, a line of accessories for your favorite accessory.

Librarian Chic Wedding = check.

HungChains dress up any pair of glasses, keep them from getting missplaced, and scream naughty ’50s librarian. Handmade from recycled materials, and sold either online or in Consignment stores, these chains scream sexy vintage.

The Hung Chains creation is a love child of Miami Beach-raised Rachel Lauren Bleemer and Alexandra Goodstone, who have known eachother since preschool and decided to combine a tendency to misplace their specs with their love of ferocious fashion.

Whether you’re trolling the library or the club, check out these fan faves: the Medusa, a trio of snake-like chains in silver, gunmetal, and gold; the Gold Rush, a twist of gold chain and black leather; and the Mr. T – a massive gold chain-link number.

Available at Midtown Consignment, 2328 North Miami Avenue, Wynwood (305-573-5307); online at

Oh gawd, I LOVE Etsy.

Kate from Canada designs pretty little rings. Her signature – the thin gold band set with a small white diamond. This ring also looks beautiful with a chocolate diamond or light brown diamond. At $165 a pop, you may have to beg, but ahh, the romance.

In addition to necklaces, bracelets, and a number of other rings, you can scoop up a few of Kate’s slim stacking rings for endless stackable possibilities.

And in case you have yet to be reformed, check out Etsy! Etsy is a place to buy and sell all things handmade. It’s like a giant online craft fair.

A la Etsy:

Our mission is to enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers. Our vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice: Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade.
